Family Diary 2003

12/03 Back to full time employ, this'll be a shock! Car written off, but offset against the loss of no claims decided to withdraw my claim, as it was likely to count against me as they'd not recover the debt from the olish insurers.

11/03 Played dodgems with a Lithuanian truck on the M25. Truck 1, car 0. Await the insurance verdict on how much it's all going to cost. Blake's taken up rugby, full on, contact sort, at 8! Ana's taken up ice skating, got bored watching Blake doing it, so joined in. Lydia continues with ballet lessons.

10/03 Scarified the lawn, 8 bags of thatch later and I was knackered!

09/03 Kids went back to school, the Juniors is still the delightful place it was before (not). Else it was a quiet month.

08/03 Went to Portugal and saw the apartment owned by the mother in law. Kids enjoyed the beaches, and we managed a bit of 'culture' seeing the castle at Sintra, and going to Belem. Both Blake and Lydia did a holiday club, Blake's nature based at Denham, and Lydia's craft based at a local church hall. Thoroughly enjoyed by both. At the end of the month I resigned from my involvement with Russell Square Art, which seemed to be going nowhere.

07/03 Blake got a new bike for his birthday, with gears! So he's been haring around the garden on that at every available moment.Had an interview for a sales role, which unfortunately amounted to nothing. Went to Wales for the weekend, saw Cardiff, and a beach we'd not previously been to, where the kids got in to rock-pooling.

06/03 Another Birthday, another year older! An old family friend passed away, so we all met for the memorial service.

05/03 Started on the stair bannister. Our sixties parrallel boards have gone in favour of vertical spindles, it allready looks better, although not complete. A couple of potential clients in the pipeline.

04/03 Started trading as Cognisant, under a Government scheme, the lack of progress with RSA prompted the two prongeed approach to business. At least this'll give some income for my labours. Finally finished the 'fire' surround in the living room, so pleased, can't think why I didn't do it before, it looks really good. The saga with the curtain pole, all 4.5 metres of it, also finally resolved with a lump of steel, some fittings from Ikea, and a pot of paint. That too, looks really good. Blake suffered some bullying at school, hopefully now resolved, we need to keep an eye.

03/03 Russell Square Art continues, a lot of work and no income yet. it all should go live next month, 3 months later than anticipated.

02/03 A couple of network meetings leading knowhere jobs wise. Further meetings have resulted in the setup of Russell Square Art, an online contemporary cartoon print gallery. Will this result in great things, we shall see. The idea is sound.

01/03 A new year, new start etc. Sold the dinghy trailer and sundry bits. Had a few meetings with various people in an attempt to find a job, but still no luck. Took the kids to see Alladin at Windsor theatre, and Blake to Harry Potter.
